Introduction

In Fishing you catch fish which can be used for cooking to make food. Fishing can be very porfitable if you sell the fish to players or can be very useful if you keep the fish yourself. Fish can be catched at fishing spots with the required item and sometimes a bait, fishing spots can be found at certain spots in the water.

Fishing equipment

Fishing equipment is required to start fishing, here are all fishing tools.

Fishing bait

Bait is required for some types of fish, here are the four basic types of bait. You can also use fish parts, roe and caviar to catch leaping trout, leaping salmon and leaping sturgeon.

Barbarian Fishing (members only)

Talk to Otto Godblessed from Barbarian training, and ask him about Barbarian Fishing methods. Ask him about Barbarian fishing methods to fish with your bare hands, and ask about fishing rod methods to learn how to start heavy rod fishing (you can find a heavy rod under his bed).

Fishing without an harpoon (members only)

From level 55 you can catch fish with your bare hands, after talking to Otto Godblessed from Barbarian training about Barbarian fishing methods. You'll also get Strength experience when fishing with your bare hands (same fishing exp).

Fish that can be catched in Otto's Grotto (members only)

From level 48 you can catch fish with an heavy rod, after talking to Otto Godblessed from Barbarian training about Barbarian fishing methods. You'll also get Strength and Agility experience when fishing with a heavy rod.

Trawler (members only)

In the Trawler fishing mini game you help out Murphy with fishing you'll have to pump out water, fill holes and repair nets. At the end of the ride you'll get a share of the catch. Which include the unique fish Seaturtles and Mantarays which cannot be fished normally.

Random events - Random Events Guide

Moving fishing spot

The fishing spot will move to an other location, this could be very frustrating at some fishing spots.

River Troll

Will attack you, level depends on your combat level.

Fish

A fish will appear, take your fishing equipment and spit out in a random direction.

Whirlpool

Sucks down your fishing equipment if you start fishing when the whirlpool is there. It doesn't suck down the fishing equipment of people that already fishing at that spot.
