The name says enough, with the skill firemaking you can make fire. Fire is used to cook and for members used to see in the dark. Fire you make by using a tinderbox with logs. You can get logs by copping trees or buy it from other players.

Basics
Stand in a open field and make sure you don't stand on any objects like flowers. Then use your tinderbox with the log (make sure u have the right level log or else it won't burn). Now the log will catch fire and start to burn. Now the logs are burning you can use your food whit it to cook it. After some minutes will the fire stop and turn into ashes. The burning time of the fire is NOT affected by the type of log.
There different types of logs you can burn using firemaking.

Pyremaking
Mort'ton shades are the shades floating around in Mort'ton and the tomb nearby.
They can be killed and burned for various rewards. You must have done this quest in order to burn shades and enter the tomb.
The shades can be burnt by using pyro logs.To make pyre logs, buy olive oil in the Mort'ton shop and use it on the flaming fire altar in the temple. You need at least 10% sanctity for this, you can improve your sanctity by building the temple or killing the Loar shades (level 40) that are attacking the temple. This will give you sacred oil. Use the sacred oil whit the logs to make pyre logs. Depending on the type of log you will need different doses of sacred oil. Adding oil to a log gives you 10 firemaking experience.
